Board-Certified Plastic Surgery, 25.7 Miles From Round Rock City Hall

Looking for a plastic surgeon in Round Rock, TX? Dr. Rocco Piazza's practice, The Piazza Center, is at 5920 W William Cannon Dr, Mesa Oaks Building Seven, Suite 200, in southwest Austin. From downtown Round Rock it's 25.7 miles, or about 33 minutes when MoPac is moving.

This page is written for Round Rock residents weighing three operations in particular: a mommy makeover, a tummy tuck, and breast augmentation with Motiva® implants. It covers what each one involves with Dr. Piazza, how many trips to Austin to expect, and how recovery works once you're home in Williamson County.

Why drive to Austin instead of seeing
a plastic surgeon in Round Rock, TX?

Round Rock has plastic surgery offices of its own, so the drive should earn its place on your calendar. These are the specifics that bring people south on MoPac, all taken from the practice's own published information.

01Board Certified in Plastic SurgeryHolds certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
02One Surgeon, Start to FinishDr. Piazza plans and performs every procedure himself at the practice's accredited private surgery center.
03The Same Anesthesia Team Since 2013Dr. Piazza has worked only with board-certified anesthesiologists Dr. Melissa Cady and Dr. Holly Helms since 2013.
04Follow-Up Measured in YearsImplant patients get a free yearly exam for life, and tummy tuck results are tracked for up to four years.

Round Rock is a younger city than the country overall. The Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey puts the median age at 36.7, compared with 39.2 for the U.S., and about 31% of the city's 51,351 households have children under 18 at home. That's why the sections below spend their time on procedures built around the changes pregnancy and breastfeeding leave behind.

Mommy Makeover

Mommy makeover in Round Rock:
one surgery, one recovery, planned around your kids.

A mommy makeover at The Piazza Center is put together one patient at a time. Dr. Piazza starts with a physical exam and a conversation about what changed after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Then he combines the pieces that fit, usually a tummy tuck, liposuction along the waistline, and a breast procedure such as augmentation, a lift, or fat transfer.

The pairing requested most often at the practice is a tummy tuck with breast augmentation. Together they treat separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) and the lost breast volume many women notice after nursing.

What happens on mommy makeover surgery day?

Expect four to six hours under general anesthesia. In his own writing on combined procedures, Dr. Piazza says he prefers to keep combination surgery under six hours total, because longer operations raise the risk of complications. Once your discomfort is under control and you're up and walking in the recovery area, you go home.

Am I a good candidate for a mommy makeover?

Dr. Piazza looks for four things: good general health, a stable weight, no plans for more pregnancies, and no smoking, or a commitment to quit several weeks before surgery. Getting pregnant later is considered safe, but pregnancy and nursing can undo part of the result. Talk through your family timeline openly at the consultation.

How do Round Rock parents get through the first two weeks?

Plan on 10 to 14 days at home with another adult handling chores and childcare. You'll be asked to walk 8 to 10 times a day starting the day after surgery, and some patients use a walker during the first week. Foam pads and an abdominal binder help control swelling, and you may have one or two small drains in the abdomen.

The lifting rule is the one that surprises parents. Dr. Piazza's instruction for tummy tuck patients is nothing heavier than ten pounds until you're cleared, and that includes toddlers and the family dog. Line up help with car seats, bath time, and the school drop-off line before surgery day.

Most patients go back to work in about two weeks and return to full activity around six weeks. Bruising usually fades within two weeks. Your final shape shows up between three and six months, once the swelling is gone and the incisions have matured.

Tummy Tuck

Tummy tuck in Round Rock:
full, mini, or extended?

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, removes loose lower-belly skin and tightens the muscle wall underneath. It shapes the body rather than reducing weight, so it works best for healthy people at or close to their goal weight, with a BMI under 30 and reasonably elastic skin. Tummy tucks are among the most requested procedures at The Piazza Center, and the practice names body contouring, especially the tummy tuck, as Dr. Piazza's area of expertise.

Why can't I just have the extra skin removed?

After pregnancy, the two long muscles down the front of the abdomen often stay spread apart. That gap, called diastasis recti, explains why some moms keep a lower-belly bulge no matter how many planks they do. In a full tummy tuck, Dr. Piazza stitches those muscles back together, which narrows the waist and flattens the stomach. Removing skin without that repair usually leaves people unhappy with the result.

Which type of tummy tuck do I need?

01

Full Tummy Tuck

Treats skin, muscle, and often fat with liposuction in one operation. Depending on the type, a tummy tuck takes one to four hours under general anesthesia.

02

Mini Tummy Tuck

Nicknamed the "skin pinch," this version is for fit patients bothered only by a small fold of skin low on the belly. The muscles are left alone, recovery runs about 7–10 days, and the incision is placed to stay hidden under a bikini.

03

Extended Tummy Tuck

The incision wraps past the hips toward the lower back, and Dr. Piazza adds liposuction to the belly, flanks, and lower back, removes more skin than a standard tuck allows, and shapes a natural-looking belly button. It suits people with hanging skin after major weight loss.

04

Common Add-Ons

Liposuction of the flanks, thighs, or underarm area is a frequent pairing. Nipple reduction adds about 15 minutes, and Aveli cellulite treatment adds about 45 minutes when done with a tummy tuck.

How much time off work do I need after a tummy tuck?

Most people take one to two weeks away from work and social plans. For the first 10 to 14 days you stay slightly bent at the waist, called "beach-chair" positioning, and you walk for 5 to 10 minutes every two hours. Drains come out in two rounds, around days 5–7 and days 7–14.

Cooking and driving usually return within one to two weeks, workouts around week four, and swimming around week six. If your job involves heavy lifting, Dr. Piazza recommends returning with activity restrictions for four to six weeks. The scar keeps maturing for about six months and fades toward white.

How long will Dr. Piazza keep seeing me after a tummy tuck?

The practice keeps checking tummy tuck results for as long as four years. Before you book, ask which early visits happen in the Austin office so you can arrange a driver for the 26-mile trip while you're still in beach-chair position.

See the complete tummy tuck page and Dr. Piazza's list of questions to ask at a tummy tuck consultation.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation near Round Rock
with Motiva® implants.

Breast augmentation is the most requested procedure at The Piazza Center. Dr. Piazza's method follows Breast Tissue Preservation principles: a small incision in the fold under the breast, as little disturbance as possible to the surrounding tissue and natural support ligaments, and a sterile no-touch technique for placing the implant. The operation usually takes less than an hour, and it's done on an outpatient basis.

What makes Motiva implants different?

In 2024 the FDA approved Motiva's SmoothSilk® Round and Ergonomix® silicone gel implants, made by Establishment Labs, for cosmetic breast augmentation. Motiva's Austin pilot program is led by three plastic surgeons, and Dr. Piazza is one of them. He was also an early U.S. adopter of the Ergonomix implant in fall 2024.

The two styles behave differently. SmoothSilk Round keeps the upper breast full both when you stand and when you lie down. Ergonomix uses a ProgressiveGel that settles into a teardrop shape when you stand and rounds out when you lie back. Motiva implants also carry BluSeal® technology, which supports monitoring of implant integrity at routine checkups. The practice offers Natrelle INSPIRA® SoftTouch implants as well.

Compare materials, shapes, and placement on the breast implant options page, or read more about Motiva implants. The less-invasive Motiva Preservé® technique has a page of its own.

How do I pick the right implant size?

Instead of working from a cup size, Dr. Piazza uses Crisalix 3D imaging to look at your chest wall, rib cage, breast volume, and torso proportions in three dimensions. You can see how different implants would sit on your own frame before anything is decided.

How soon can I get back to work and the gym?

You can usually shower the day after surgery. Expect some chest tightness or pressure, usually managed with acetaminophen and ibuprofen; bruising is uncommon. Many people are back to their daily routine within a few days.

Gym workouts restart gradually at two to three weeks, building weight slowly. At six weeks you're about 80% healed with no restrictions, and full healing takes about three months.

How many follow-up visits will I drive to?

Plan on visits around day 6, when dressings come off; week 3, when Dr. Piazza checks the incisions and starts his scar protocol; month 3; and month 6. After that, every breast implant patient is invited back for a yearly exam at no charge, for life.

Can I breastfeed later, and will my implants need replacing?

Many women breastfeed after augmentation, though it depends on the technique, where the incision sits, and whether milk ducts or nerves are affected. Nipple sensation can go up or down afterward and often settles over the following weeks and months. Implants have no fixed expiration date; the FDA once advised replacing them every 10 years, and many women today have had theirs for more than 20.

If you'd rather skip implants, fat transfer breast augmentation is an option: fat is collected with liposuction, purified with the REVOLVE system, and placed in the breasts for a modest gain in size. Full details are on the breast augmentation page.

to the office?

The distances below were measured from Round Rock City Hall at 221 E Main St and from the east side of town, using OpenStreetMap routing without live traffic. Weekday rush hours on MoPac and I-35 add real time, so give yourself a cushion for morning appointments.

Austin-area tolls are collected electronically, with no booths. According to TxDOT, drivers without a toll tag pay 50 percent more on Austin-area toll roads.

Can I do my first consultation virtually?

Yes. The Piazza Center offers both in-person and virtual consultations, so you can meet Dr. Piazza from home in Round Rock while you're still deciding. Surgery itself happens in Austin, so expect a few drives south over the course of your care; ask the office which follow-ups can be handled by video.

What happens at a plastic surgery consultation?

The first visit is a private conversation of 45 to 60 minutes about your goals, health history, and options. You leave with a written summary of the recommended plan, the timeline, and the cost. If you request an appointment online, the office contacts you within one business day. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Bring a list of your medications and supplements, records from any past surgery, and your questions written down so nothing gets missed. If you're considering a mommy makeover, note any future pregnancy plans, since they affect timing.

Recovery

Recovering at home
in Round Rock.

Most of your recovery happens in your own house, not in Austin. A little planning makes the first two weeks go more smoothly. Always follow Dr. Piazza's written post-op instructions first; the notes below are only local logistics.

Who do I call if something feels wrong?

For questions about pain, swelling, drains, or incisions, call The Piazza Center at (512) 288-8200. For an emergency, call 911. Round Rock has three hospitals with 24-hour emergency departments:

01St. David's Round Rock Medical Center2400 Round Rock Ave, Round Rock, TX 78681
02Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock300 University Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78665
03Ascension Seton Williamson201 Seton Pkwy, Round Rock, TX 78665

If you ever end up in an ER after surgery, bring your surgical paperwork and let the practice know as soon as you can.

Where can I take short recovery walks in Round Rock?

Regular walking is built into the mommy makeover and tummy tuck recovery plans above. In the first days, laps around the house count. Once Dr. Piazza says you're ready for more, the city's trail system gives you measured routes: the Old Settlers Park Trail (3.30 miles), the city's Brushy Creek Trail (3.06 miles), and the Greater Lake Creek Trail (2.73 miles). You don't need to finish a loop. Walk out ten minutes and turn around.

Keep new incisions out of the sun, because sun exposure can make scars worse. Early-morning walks and covering clothing help during a Central Texas summer.

How should I set up the house before surgery?

Fill your prescriptions ahead of time at a pharmacy close to home so nobody has to make an extra run. Move everyday items to counter height so you aren't bending or reaching overhead. Stock lower-sodium meals, since salt can add to swelling, and keep water within reach. If you have young children, book childcare that covers the full two weeks rather than a day or two.

Financing

How Do Round Rock Patients Pay for Plastic Surgery?

The practice doesn't post fixed prices for these procedures, because each plan is built for one person. After your consultation you receive a detailed cost breakdown. Combining procedures costs more up front than a single surgery, but fees such as the operating room and anesthesia are paid once.

Three lenders work with The Piazza Center. Cherry offers a 60-second pre-qualification, 0% APR options, and no prepayment penalty. PatientFi sets up monthly plans and lets you check eligibility without affecting your credit score. CareCredit® has offered patient payment plans since 1987. Qualified applicants can get 0% APR, and current specials can be combined with financing. See the financing page to apply.
